I can vouch for the following.  My partner belongs to a bike riding email
group.  He didn't open the offending link as the virus checker bounced it
but a person he knows did.   My partners work email server got so swamped
with emails from the person who opened  it that it crashed the whole system
even though they never actually got the virus.

It apparently looks like it is from someone you know with the friendly
message....
"Check this link out, it's really great"...........     It looks even more
innocent than the one we just all went through.

Beware all.
