There is free anti-virus software on the Net which (if properly
updated) should have intercepted the computer virus which
affected Chris Padley's machine as that virus is 7 months old.

One is "Innoculate" available on http://antivirus.cai.com

It's from Computer Associates who now own what was Australia's:
the VET anti-virus package. Innoculate seems to do everything
that VET does except there is e-mail but no phone support.

I haven't tried it as I'm still using VET (for $45 each year)
which incidentally found a September 2000 virus (Hybris) on an
e-mail I received today.
