Dropping the most common 150 species would simplify the process and
seems like a good idea. These species could be covered anytime later,
if someone especially wants to contribute that info.
I would probably also include the geographical region in the subject
header also if that is feasible too. I think the suggested list order
is only relevant for assigning a discussion date to a species, but I
agree that using the christidis and boles list makes sense too. I
propose to construct and post the list showing the intended discussion
dates before the project starts. Do you know if it is possible to
download their list off the internet?
Russell Woodford, the list owner has given his agreement to let the
discussion flow freely on this subject. Would you be happy to repost
your comments on birding-aus or allow me to as it may help to avoid
duplication of your ideas which are most helpful.
