Hello All,

Orange Chats were seen last Saturday the 24th, at Lake Tutchewop, west of
Kerang in northern Victoria. Freckled Ducks were also reported by Phil Maher
at the Tullakool Salt ponds, north of Barham on the Vic/NSW border. A local
birdwatcher also has reported seeing a Black-breasted Buzzard at the western
end of Gunbower Island. He assures me that it was not a juv. White-bellied
Sea Eagle, which can look look like a B-bB. Another interesting report was
that of some Thornbills in the samphire at Lake Tutchewop. Though a bit out
of range perhaps Slender-billed T/b? If you are in the area it could be
worth checking out this sighting. Some out of range birds birds seem to
regularly turn up in Nth Victoria.

Regards,

Chris Coleborn
