40+ White throated Needletails
2 Fork-tailed Swifts
1 Swiftlet sni
Someone please share the secret of identifying Collocalia species?
While observing the above flock a small swiftlet appeared. All that I
managed to pick up was the pale underparts of the breast and belly
with the remainder of the underparts being a sooty grey. The brief
sightings through the canopy of the trees (desperately searching for
a nice clearing, no such luck!)were that. A flash of a bird with
little time to target and focus.
I have no trouble with White rumped Swiftlets over canefields but I'm
blowed if I can achieve a good description of these speedsters in
open forest.
I'm leaning towards Glossy Swiftlet but as stated previously, due to
the lack of a good clear sighting I will be recording the details as
sni (species not identified)
