Hi All, Interestingly, Simpson & Day have a plate showing a 'light form' Sooty Owl in the field guide (it is in the older one - not sure if it is in the newer one) but with no comments pertaining to the paler colouration. There is not even a picture of a 'dark form' bird to compare it to. Does anyone know anything about pale & dark Sooty Owls ???
