Dear all,

This was just posted to me by my friend in California Bruce Barrett.

>On March 15th the Stinson Beach sandplover was briefly captured,
>measured, and released unharmed. Almost all measures, along with various
>ratios and combinations of measures confirm the bird to be a Greater
>Sandplover, most likely of the nominate subspecies. Details will be
>published soon.
>
>The managers of Seadrift Estates and PRBO would like everyone to know
>that starting in April (when the busy spring/summer season begins)
>restrictions on access by birders, especially during weekends, will
>begin to occur. A complete restriction may be in place by Memorial
>Weekend. So birders interested in seeing the sandplover should do it
>soon. Those who have seen the bird may also consider limiting the number
>of repeat visits to lessen the traffic and potential for sooner
>restrictions.

Regards

Greg
