Some south-east Australian information on Bustard decline for the list.

A check of the Atlas of Victorian Wildlife data for the species shows the
following:

- There are 128 records of the species for Victoria
- pre1900 it was found in eastern and southern Victoria
- between 1900 to 1969 its range contracted to the west of the state
- 1970 to 1989, range further contracts to the far north-west
- 1990 onwards, now only recorded from the Big Desert and sporadic records
elsewhere in north-west.

This shows the well documented (?) decline of Bustards in Victoria. The species
was listed as a threatened taxon under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act in
1991.
