Anyone wondering about the absence of Ibis in parts of Victoria need go no further than the Rye tip on the southern Mornington Peninsula. There are hundreds of ibis feeding on the open fill rubbish. It saddens and discusts me to see them in such a setting. I observed a White Ibis flying overhead a few days days ago with a plastic bag trailing from one of its feet.  Bett Mitchell.
