On the weekend I had a phone call from a local birder who had seen about a
dozen Fork-tailed Swifts over Blackheath (in the upper Blue Mountains west
of Sydney) on Friday morning. They were not mixed with needletails at all,
however it appears both species were at large on that day as flocks of
needletails were also seen at (at least) two locations in the Blue
Mountains on Friday.

Mike Tarburton, I will send you full details soon.

Cheers,

Carol
