G'day all

One Spotless Crake at Floating Islands Reserve on Saturday 10th Feb. This is a
few km west of Colac on the Princes Highway in western Victoria. I saw my first
a couple of weeks ago at Belmont Common after being told where to go and which
way to look so this one I found myself was a pleasant suprise. For those who
know the reserve I saw the bird from the lookout above the lake and it was on a
tiny patch of mud on the eastern shore.

Coincidently, my father saw one at Yan Yean reservoir (north of Melbourne) on
Friday. I don't know the details but apparently you can see all three Victorian
crakes there at the moment. Dad managed the Spotless and several Australian
Crakes.

Cheers

Steve
