Hello all (Mike Tarburton)

Two sightings of Whitethroated Needletails so far this month, the first on
12th Jan. over my backyard in suburban St Ives (Sydney) by David Siems of 8+
and the second on 19th Jan.of at least 20 swifts from nearby ,( Stanley
Mathews place, his backyard). All were Whitethroated Needletails except a
solitary low-flying bird which we both clearly identified as a Forktailed
Swift. I find that these birds are flying at various heights which makes
size comparisons and counting difficult
The weather , warm, humid days has been just about perfect swift weather
with lows coming through and insect rises sometimes visible over the
sandstone valleys. The staging is all set but we can't find enough extras

Best wishes
Reg
