Hello All
Some asked me to let them know when I was next interviewed on birds of
the Top End. The date is 3pm Darwin time, Monday (29 Jan). If there is
enough public interest the ABC staff involved wish to make this a
semi-regular programme.

So anyone out there interested in supporting our attempts to educate a
largely conservative public by asking questions, is welcome to phone -
1800 801 840.  There is also a website <www.local.abc.net.au/topend>.

Mike the interviewer is not a birdo, and we want to keep the program
light enough to appeal to a wide range of listeners most of whom are not
birders.  For this week I've suggested Aboriginal perspectives on birds;
particular species eg Chestnut Rail; and perhaps bird sex (Mike doesn't
know about that one yet!). Ideas for future topics would be welcome.
