Hi All
An interesting comment on Lewin's Rail activity in the middle hours of the day.
Cumberland Bird
Observers Club visited Metromix Swamp on the south side of Botany Bay on
20/1/01, at about 2:45 pm
and 28 degrees, and were treated to a LR lurking in a reed bed before it
crossed the path some 10
metres away from us, where it provided an excellent view for all of 5 seconds
(and lets face it,
that's good!). A new bird for many of those present.
Also good numbers of Eastern Curlew around - 9 at Metromix and 50 at Bona
Point, plus 25 Grey Tailed
Tattler.
Cheers
Chris Shinton
