Following are highlights from Birdline Victoria over the past week that improved somewhat over previous weeks:

13 January      Only the second record, if confirmed of a Pectoral Sandpiper from the Bendigo region at the Bendigo Mining Evaporation Ponds on the road to Dingee and Mitiamo at Woodvale, 20 km's north of Bendigo.

12 January      A Lesser Yellowlegs (adult, non-breeding), has been reported from the Werribee Sewage Plant, the bird was seen in the T-Section Lagoons area, at the western end of the westernmost lagoon, associating with a small flock of Marsh Sandpipers.

11 January      An unbanded and un-wingclipped Cape Barren Goose was seen flying into the Werribee Park Mansion (Melways ref 201B4).

10 January      A pair of Hooded Plovers at Point Roadknight near Angelsea were seen at the back-beach (Melways ref 196 E12).

5 January       Another sighting of White-winged Triller in the Melbourne area comes from the Banyule Wetlands in Heidelberg, latitude 37o 44' 57" longitude 145o 05' 21".

5 December      A Barn Swallow has been reported by an English couple from Cyanide Dam in the Chiltern Box-Ironbark National Park, confirmation would be appreciated.

26 December     An unconfirmed sighting of a Freckled Duck from Braeside Wetlands was seen on Boxing Day but not seen since, latitude S 38o 00' 46", longitude 145o 08' 04"

23 December     Over 200 Banded Stilts and 3 Black-tailed Godwits were seen at the Austin Road Lagoon, Werribee Sewage Farm.

15 December     Up to 6 Painted Snipe 12 km west of Port Fairy. Take the Crags Road turnoff and proceed 800 metres towards coast. The birds were seen in small roadside soak at this point.
