Hi All.
Just a quick note about the Little Terns at The
North Entrance, Central Coast.
Spent an hour and a half Tuesday afternoon 5/12
observing the breeding colony. The 2 chicks already hatched survived the
previous week and have grown considerably. I could see eggs in 3
nests. There appear to be another 9 birds sitting on nests. I also
noted at least one other pair digging scrapes, obviously looking to nest.
So it's looking good so far.
The fencing seems to be working well, with the
birds only having to contend with passing Silver Gulls while I was
there.
I'll be checking again next Tuesday, hopefully more
chicks will have hatched by then.
