In my posting last Thursday I said that we couldn't find any Great Crested Grebes at Lake Wallace (Wallerawang NSW). Of course that doesn't mean there weren't any there! What I failed to mention is that we didn't look at all parts of the lake. I went there again briefly on the weekend, and this time found at least 20 of them, up near the power station on the far side of the barrier across the water, at the end of the rough muddy track past the sailing club. (Thanks Penny for reminding me that this is the time of year they would be in that area.) There were also quite a lot of Hoary-headed Grebes.
