On Saturday on an Alice Springs Field Nats outing we observed four
Australian Ringnecks feeding in a clump of Eremophila freelingii (rock
fuscia). They appeared to be eating dried seed pods.
Has anyone seen ringnecks, or any other birds, feeding on Eremophila seeds?
I know emus are reputed to eat Eremophila fruit and pass the seeds
undigested, hence the common name emu-bush for some species.
