Wompoo - Castlecrag, Sydney

The Wompoo fruit dove reported by Andy Burton last week is still around the
Castlecrag northern escarpment. We saw it twice this weekend in a Port
Jackson Fig tree, and it is possibly feeding on the immature figs, abundant
at present. There are also immature fruit on some old abandoned orchard
trees close by.

For Sydneysiders, it could be worth following Andy's advice and checking out
the parks, gardens and wet-forest patches around Sydney. As an indicator,
look for clamorous harassment by noisy miners in the upper canopy.
