Hi Birders,
Fast on the heels of an adult Banded Stilt at Swan Bay, Port Stephens NSW present since 15 October 2000 reported by Alan Stuart yesterday, I have to report that a pair of adult Banded Stilts are present on the western side of Chittaway Point in Tuggerah Bay (at the end of Henry Street, which comes off Geoffrey Rd). These Banded Stilts are feeding with Pied Stilts and Bar-tailed Godwits in the shallows at the edge of the Bay. On the 2nd October 2000 a single immature Banded Stilt was at Lions Park, Chittaway Bay for one day only. Hopefully this pair will remain longer. This is the 3rd record for the Central Coast, and there are only a handfull of records for the east Coast of NSW!
