Gooday all,
A recipe I have used for young birds is meaty bites.
Soak "Meaty Bites" in water, once fully expanded they can be fed to the bird. It is a good food source and provides fibre and other supplements for the young bird. Worked successfully on Qld. Magpies.
Contact your WIRES representative or a wildlife carer in your area.
If still available Jack Wheeler produced a booklet titled "The care of sick, injured and orphaned native Birds and Animals", it contains some excellent info.
