Hi Birders,
Edwin Vella asked about Sanderlings on the
NSW Coast this spring and I can report that a Sanderling was reported to
Birdline that was seen at Long Reef on 7 September 2000, observer unknown but
possibly Michael Ronan. This is the only one reported so far.
White-throated Gerygones could occur in the
northern suburbs of Sydney on migration but not stay around. I have frequently
found them close to the coast on the NSW Central Coast in August and September
but they soon move to more woodland areas to breed. They pass through again in
March-April on their return migration
