Hi All
quite an interesting observation this morning at Howard Springs
near Darwin. A Rainbow Pitta displaying by standing erect and
then bowing so low its chin almost touched the ground, all the
while retaining the stiff, extended posture. Looked totally different
from the typical Pitta shape one gets used to. Nearby a Tawny
Frogmouth with a couple of chicks, Shining Flycatcher, Spangled
Drongo, Lemon-bellied Flycatcher and Large-billed Gerygone all
nesting. Followed up with Little Kingfisher, Mangrove- Robin,
Gerygone, Fantail at nearby Palmerston.
***Also, I strongly urge support for Russell Woodford's plea that
ONLY birding topics be posted to this forum.
