While thinking what to write for the Bird poet - a sonnet. limerick, clerihew, ode or  what you will maybe a twist on the following sayings could get you going.
 
The early bird...............................................................
 
A bird in the hand...........................................................
 
Kill two birds....................................................................
 
One swallow.....................................................................
 
Birds of a feather...............................................................
 
..................................................tomorrow a feather duster.
 
Fine feathers do not................................................................................
 
 
Sauce for the goose.........................................................
 
 
Do not quail!  Imagine the bad pun possibilities of a quoll in the city!!!
