Thanks to those who responded to my question about whether or not Noisy Miners might mimic other birds.  Even posting the question was a problem for me; I was afraid someone would say that, of course Noisy Miners make that call all the time, and how could I have missed it?  While on the subject of miners - there has been some discussion on birding-aus about whether Noisy's and White-throated are found together in different regions, so I may as well mention that yes, they are often found together in the Dubbo area too.
 
As I once heard a very wise man say, the only thing for certain in birdwatching, is that nothing's certain.
