Hi Jill,
We too have had similar experiences with "Black" WWFW's. Our first sighting
was many years ago near Pooncarie, not so far from your sighting. We had 2
males literally dancing on the road infront of us, one of which looked
black. Another sighting was at Hamelin Pool Shark Bay WA. This is very close
to the Island population of Pied birds. Could it have been a bird from the
island blown over to the big island. We did not think so. In both cases
after much looking from various angle, (both sightings in bright sunlight)
we reluctantly decided that from some angles the very dark blue appears
