From the Cairns Esplanade

Cairns has had a few "escapees" this August too.
14th - x1 Red-necked Stint, x1 Curlew Sandpiper, both in full breeding.
16th - x2 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, now we know Spring is really here!
19th - up to 9 Sharp-tails
21st - plus 2 Greenshank.
Now most summer resident shorebirds are represented again, just waiting on
the Broadbilled Sandpipers.
Oh, and the increasing numbers of Pied Fruit Pigeons that we have been
seeing since the 21st? may have been escapees too but we can't prove it.
But no ducks. Yet.
