I was on that bird banding weekend when Greg found the Shoveler and I agree 
that most people will get lost in that area without local help. The swamp 
is not near the road and there is another property between it and the road. 
With 8x binoculars the ducks were black dots on the water and the only way 
to see the birds was with a scope. People maybe tempted to go onto the 
property if they haven't the correct equipment. I was there the following 
day with Greg and we didn't see the Shoveler.

Yet more country bashing!!!  Get real!  One experience with a disgruntled
landholder and everyone living outside a city boundary is either draining a
wetland or clearing woodland.

WAKE UP URBAN AUSTRALIA!!!

By the way, I did smile when I saw the instructions on how to get to Little
Broadwater Swamp.  Knowing that area very well (having lived in the area 
for
nine years) I did have visions of a few very lost twitchers.
