Hi, This morning I observed 6 Galahs 'feeding' on the tops of Pine trees.(Pinus radiata) Yellow-tailed blacks are everywhere here in Adelaide at the moment during winter feeding on the Pines. Pollen was shed everywhere about a week ago covering everything in sight with the sulphur yellow pollen. The male cones were seen standing upright on the tops of the trees like candles. The Galahs may have been feeding on the pollen, young shoots or the male cones. Has anybody got any thoughts on this? Cheers, Peter.
