While we are on the subject of footedness, have there been any studies
of the megapodes.  I'm interested in bush turkeys - these do a heck of a
lot of grasping - as they search for food and rake up their mounds.  

Turkeys will grasp fruit and the like with their feet - it is
interesting to note which birds use their feet when eating food - feral
pigeons infesting parks, for example, are rather clumsy at dealing with
bits of bread, bush turkeys are remarkably elegant ...
