Hello Sean, and all down under, Sean wrote: >a huge white gull i dont know< The large white gull most probably is Glaucous Gull - Larus hyperboreus - which breed on the island. Though adults in breeding plumage have light grey backs, 2nd cal birds are very white. The other large "white gull" that can be seen is Iceland Gull - Larus glaucoides - though this species is not common, it has been recorded, and as Glaucous it is 2nd cal birds that are the whitest.
