I will be in the Cunamulla area for a week from 3 July. While I plan to do
my own thing, enjoying getting away from life for a week, I would appreciate
any information on any interesting birding sites with easy distance.
This is so far out of date it's ludicrous, but back in 1973 (!!!) I spent a
few days camping in a spot about 32 miles west of Cunamulla called
"Turkey's Nest". I was directed there by a local birder named Monty
Schrader. Anyway, this was a great spot (back then!) for birds like Bourke
Parrot, Chestnut-breasted Quailthrush, Hall's Babbler, White-browed
Treecreeper etc. Maybe it still is..... I'd be curious to know.
