I've seen Beautiful Firetail as follows:

21/2/93 Near Frenchman's Cap, Tasmania 2 adults
24/2/93 Anniversary Bay walk, Rocky Cape National Park, Tasmania 2
birds in heath - fantastic close clear views
25/2/93 Road to Mawbanna, Tasmania 1 flew in front of my car,
showing its brilliant red rump
20/2/99 Budderoo National Park (Southern Highlands sw of Sydney, NSW)
1 adult and 1 immature
21/2/99 Fitzroy Falls (Southern Highlands) 1 with stripes on
breast, but breast also quite buff

In 18 visits to Capertee Valley in months February, March, August and November,
I never saw it
