The Bat-eared Fox is a species that is realtively common in the drier =
parts of South Africa.  It is about half to two thirds the size of a =
Border Collie and is mainly noctural.  At times it does come out to feed =
late in the afternoon.  Where it is undisturbed, it even starts feeding =
before midday.  It's food isinsects, mainly harvester termites =
(Hodotermes sp.), but also ants, grasshoppers, beetles - adults and =
larvae.

They usually move around in family groups.

They are certainly beautiful little animals, looking a lok like a fox =
but with much bigger, rounder ears and a smaller, sharper mouth. =20

They are completely inoffensive animals with no road sense!!!!!  Many of =
them are killed  by vehicles at night.
