Morning all, Some friends and I are planning a trip into NW Qld, Mt Isa -
Cloncurry areas, and amongst other things would like to locate the
Kalkadoon Grasswren (Amytornis ballarae). Schodde & Mason describe
this as being located in triodia in the Selwyn Ranges south of Cloncurry.
Maps show essentially two ways into the Selwyns, one being to the Boundary
Hill area and the other to Maggie Creek. Could anyone advise which of these
is the most likely area in which to find the KGWs, or better still, have an
exact location?
Further to this are there any suitable camping areas nearby or should one
best use Cloncurry or elsewhere as a base?
Many thanks.
Tony Russell.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a new bird is there?
