I have been told that a group of Apostle birds was seen recently in a remote valley near Wingen in the the upper Hunter valley.   My informant was an aboriginal who has spent much of his leisure time throughout his life (84 years) in the hills around Murrurundi.   He really knows his birds and can call a lot of them to him.   He told me that Apostle birds used to be common in that area, but this is the first flock he has seen for many years.
