G'day all

For the last 15 years (except '95 and '96) I have recorded the arrival dates of
Cattle Egrets in the paddocks behind my house.

The mean date is 30th March, earliest is 15th March and latest is 19th April.

They turned up again today (or probably yesterday).

If they follow the usual pattern their numbers will build up to ~50 over the
next few weeks and they will stay until October.

I've never seen a tagged bird so don't know where they come from.

It's extremely dry here at present and their paddocks wouldn't be as inviting as
they usually are.

Cheers

Steve
