Folks

A chance to get your hands dirty for a good conservation cause. As part of
the Regent Honeyeater Recovery Effort we have volunteer Operations Groups
undertaking habitat restoration work at the core breeding areas for this
species.

On the weekend of 8-9 April (just over three weeks away) there is a tree
planting weekend organised in the Capertee Valley (2.5 to 3 hours drive from
Sydney). We are after people who know which each of the tree goes into the
ground to help out. For those uncertain on this point there will be on the
spot training provided. Accommodation can be arranged in the valley and a
meal will be provided Saturday evening for a small cost.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who go birding in the valley to
help ensure the future of the woodland birds the valley is famous for.
Please let me know if you are interested as we need to know who is coming in
order to distribute people around the planting sites as plan as organise
accommodation etc for those that need it.

On past experience the bulk of the trees and shrubs will be planted on
Saturday leaving most of Sunday free for birdwatching.

The Regent Honeyeater needs your help!
