G'day all.
At a biodiversity workshop I attended a while ago, one of the presenters
used a vivid analogy that list members may find handy when trying to
explain things to others.
She compared the biosphere to a jet aeroplane. "It can still fly with a
some nuts and bolts missing," she said, "but if we keep removing them,
no-one knows which will be the one that causes the inevitable crash."
