Hi

Here in NSW  central coast,we sometimes get warty growths on magpies,  mainly juvenile birds which is usually caused by mosquitoes. or other biting insects called pox virus.  No treatment can be given and if the bird is not too badly affected will recover in about 6 wks.  Sometimes the eyes and the skin around the beak get affected which may send the bird blind or push the beak out of position, preventing the bird from eating.  If they get the lumps around the legs and feet they will often come good.  Some vets here will give antibotic to counter any secondary infection. other birds which can sometimes become infected are black-faced cuckoo shrikes and pee wees.
Hope this helps.
