Hi birders,
Just to continue this thread, I saw  one as I was driving into Cairns
from the north,  flying over cane fields near Smithfield on 3rd Feb.
They are much commoner in the wet season in this area. Centenary Lake in
Cairns is another fairly good bet if you are up this way, and of course
they are very reliable on Chris Dahlberg's Daintree river trips at this
season..
