Looks like Great-crested Grebes have has  very successful breeeding season/s.
  • 116 at Price, SA is an impressive number
  • In the last two weeks I have seens 6 at Penrice Saltfields just North of Adelaide and 3 at Goolwa near the mouth of the Murray River in SA.  GCB at Penrice are not unusual,  I have seen up to 56 there, but it is the first time I have seen them at Goolwa.
  • Trevor Hampel also reported GCBs on the Murray near Murray Bridge, SA on Oct 22.

Hi All, a remarkable influx of Great-crested Grebes currently at Penrice
Saltfields. We counted 116 in two groups this morning. There are usually a
few there, and on Wednesday last there were 28, which is a lot, but 116 is
incredible.
Marg Cameron please note.
