G'day,
I am many months behind filling in the forms.
What slows me down mostly is finding the bird on the list.

I was wondering if anyone has put together a list that is in Alphabetical sequence but shows against each species the line/sequence number for it on the Form

i.e. It would have been prepared by typing the following list
 1    Emu
 2    Brush-turkey, Australian
 3    Scrubfowl, Orange-footed
 4    Quail, Stubble
 5    Quail, Brown
 6    Goose, Magpie
 7    Whistling-Duck, Plumed
     etc.
and then getting the computer to sort into alphabetical sequence.

The REN (Recommended English Names) seem to have stabilised, but the order has changed umpteen times and is well overdue for another. In 1994 Messrs Christidis and Boles wrote that it was planned to revise the list every 3 to 4 years !

My old brain can still remember the A to Z REN sequence but it just clogs up trying to remember "The Order"
I guess I'm not the only one as the Field Guides and even the Messrs Christidis and Boles 'Taxonomy' all include an Alphabetical  REN Index to obviously cater for others like me.

I would appreciate if anyone could provide me with such a list

Regards..... Bob Forsyth
