This is a Request for Identification. Between Mon and Wednesday last week there were a group of 40+ shearwaters in the inner harbour feeding with Silver Gulls, Crested Terns and various cormorants in large groups (feeding frenzies!) on what appeared to be fish shoals near the surface. They were observed from the Manly ferry but I could not make out what species they were without bins. They appeared to have pinkish/flesh coloured feet but couldn't pick up tail shape in the brief moments of passing them. Also a skua sp flew briefly overhead (sorry jaeger) - mainly white and brown. Any suggestions on likely species for these two? Anyone else see them?
