Yes, the Blue-faced Honeyeater is capable of building its own nest and will
do so regularly in some places.  Yes, also, to this species being
recognised as a co-operative breeder.  I don't have references handy but
auxiliaries at the nest is common with this species.  The blue face is,
from memory, acquired in the second, or more likely, the third year.  There
is a paper on this in "Corella"  by G. Clancy & S.G. Lane. Once again, I
don't have this at my fingertips.
