Virtue rewarded - today I went to the Friends of Wilson Reserve (Ivanhoe, Melbourne)working bee. En route back to carpark, a brilliant blue flash swooped past me from the billabong, across the riverside path and down to skim over the Yarra, then alighted on a short bare branch above the river. One of the best views I've had of the Azure Kingfisher for years. They seem to come more regularly these days. Still notable for beauty if not actually rare.
