Hi
This message is a bit off-topic but I hope you apologies me.
I am a North Swedish member of your birding list planning to visit your
country in nov-dec this year. I would like to get in contact with people
willing to "go birdwatching" or give some god tips of where to go or stay.
We have been to Australia several times before, but would like to find
those unknown places not mentioned in guidebooks and of course those hard
to find birds(I have seen 401 aussie species so far). I am not only a
birder but also interested in botany and plants, orchids, carnivourous,
cycads.......My husband is an ecologist mainly working with parasitic
fungi. We will rent a car so we can go whereever we like.
Our intinary is as follows:
9 nov I will arrive in Cairns and then join a bird banding group heading
north to Iron Range.
27 nov the rest of my family arrive in Brisbane and I am supposed to be
back from the Cape to meet them(husband and 3,5 year old daughter).
27 nov-6 dec stay in South Qld(Relatively close to beach.....)
6 dec-29 dec driving south, visiting Canberra(lived there -93) and finally
end up in Melbourne for Millenium celebrations.
6 january depart from Sydney airport.
We would gladly help if you ever go to Scandinavia and especially north
Sweden.
Please e-mail me privately.
Regards
Katarina
