Hello folks,
Our recent Albury visit highlighted
the fact that if you have habitat trees you have birds.
We were lucky enough to witness the
regent honeyeater feeding young in suburbia. In the 70s there were
many iron barks planted as a part of the plantation throughout Albury. The
iron barks are now flowering profusely in the relatively new
suburbs. This is a wonderful tribute to the early planners of the
city.
However, we were wondering how the
term "regent" came to describe the honeyeater, bowerbird and parrot. Is
there a connection between the yellow and black?
