We live just over the border north of Canberra and the Pallid Cuckoos are
competing with the Grey Shrike-thrush and Willie Wagtail as the most vocal
species at present. One Pallid Cuckoo actually was calling throughout the
night (or at least every time I woke up it was). Most Unusual.

Pallid Cuckoos have been in the Canberra region for a few weeks. A
COG
field trip on 22Aug99 had them at Wee Jasper, NSW, and I heard one
from my
Canberra garden yesterday.
