For anyone interested, I have listed below a few references which address
risks and/or effects of fenthion application to non-target species (mostly
birds).

in
southern Queensland. Australian Veterinary Journal. 74(4):321-3.

for terrestrial vertebrates: Evaluation and application of the US
Environmental Protection Agency's quotient model. Conservation Biology.
9(6):1605-18.

Roux D, Jooste S, et al. 1995. An aquatic toxicological evaluation of
fenthion in the context of finch control in South Africa. Ecotoxicology &
Environmental Safety. 31(2):164-72.

Keith, JO, Ngondi JG, et al. 1994. Environmental effects on wetlands
of
Queletox registered applied to ploceid roosts in Kenya. Environmental
Toxicology & Chemistry. 40(1):63-9.

Vyas NB, Thiele LA, et al. 1998. Possible mechanisms for sensitivity
to
organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides in eastern screech-owls and
American kestrels. Comparative Biochemistry & Physiology. Part C
Pharmacology, Toxicology, Endocrinology. 120(1):151-7.

Most of these journals should be available from a good university library.
Let me know if you cannot locate one and I'll try to help from University
of Sydney.
